William Swanbeck
William Swanbeck - Retired US Navy Submarine Commander
William Brad Swanbeck retired from the Navy in 2021 after more than two decades of military service. Most recently, he spent 3 years as a special assistant to the commanding officer at Naval Submarine Base New London in Connecticut. Before that, William Brad Swanbeck served as chief commanding officer aboard the USS Montpelier, where he led the first Fleet Modular Automated Undersea Vehicle (FMAUV) launch from a submarine.
William Swanbeck has also served as division officer on the USS Asheville, engineering officer on the USS Maryland, and executive officer on the USS Dallas. In the latter position, he served as second-in-command on a deployment to the Mediterranean and Central Command Area of Responsibility.
Mr. Swanbeck has also served as operations analyst and study lead for the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations' N81 Assessments Division, and as executive assistant to the director of maritime headquarters at US Fleet Forces Command. He holds a bachelor of mechanical engineering from the United States Naval Academy and a master of business administration from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater.
